Postcards from Pakistan

Walter Mooney (USGS, Menlo Park) and I traveled to Islamabad, Pakistan, in March of 2006, to meet with colleagues from the Meteorological Department to discuss possible collaborative projects. The visit was far too short, but below are a few photographs of a lovely city and our gracious hosts:

Walter Mooney and me with our Met Dept hosts. More friendly than we look, honest.

Guest house: Our home away from home.
View out my window. Just like home: little boys, big mountains
Local color: Bit of a blur, the best I could do. (Not like the trucks at home.)

Me and friends: Keeping a low profile

Bread at the Super Market: A poor shot of an amazing baking operation.

Walter and friend the Super Market: lovely market, lovely people, scary buildings
Shah Faisal: World's largest mosque, shrouded in the fog.
Monkeys! (gotta love 'em)
