Instructions for Ashtech Z12 Receiver
with no Telemetry

Step 1. Turn on receiver
Step 2. Go to Screen
8
-down arrow (this takes you to the Ring Buffer area).
-go to SIZE(MB) change this to 00.
-follow the directions to reset the Ring Buffer.(Note this
will reset the receiver and start a new file.)
Step 3. Go to Screen
4
- go to SESSION
- set IN USE to Y
- set SESSION to A
- set start time (for session A) to be 00 00 00
- set end time to be 23 59 59
- set the recording interval to 120 sec
- set SVS to 1
- set MASK to 00
- check that IN USE is Y
- enter
Now it will return you to Screen 4
- check that SESSION has a blinking arrow next to it now
(if not, you probably did not set IN USE to Y)
Step 4. From Screen 4 (again)
- go to RECEIVER CONTROL
- set BLOCK SIZE to 1 kb
- set INTERPOLATE to Y
- enter
Now
it will return you to Screen 4
Step 5. Go to Screen
9
- set SITE CODE to be the 4-character ID for your site
- set SESSION to A
- set RCV# to the last 3 digits of your receiver's
serial number (should start with LP#####)
- set ANT# to the last 3 digits of your antenna's
serial number (should start with CR14###)
- set MMDD to the current date
- set OPR to your initials
- in the matrix of values to enter, in the section
for HI, BEF --- enter the value 0.0083
(this is the antenna height of 8.3 mm)
- also enter the value 0.0083 for HI, AFT
- enter
Now it will return you to Screen 9
Step 6. Hit enter again
(to exit Screen 9)
Step 7. From Screen
8 (again)
- enter
- type 555 (this saves everything you've done)
Now it will return you to Screen 8
Step 8. Power off the
receiver (using toggle on back panel)
