The Southern California Seismic Network earthquake processing and reporting system changed on Jan. 31, 2000. The new system, called TriNet, represents an important step forward in earthquake monitoring in southern California. TriNet uses data from new broad-band, digital seismic instruments as well as from older short period instruments. Processed data is immediately available in a commercial database.
